2022 will mark 120 Years of Mischief and this will be a birthday celebration to remember for little Peter Rabbit as it will be 120 years since The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first officially published back in 1902.

Shortly after in 1903, Beatrix Potter, author, artist, and nature lover created the first EVER Peter Rabbit doll and registered him at the Patent Office, launching the first in a long line of official products!

Let’s take a look at Peter Rabbit’s incredible journey that still lives on in this brief timeline:

1866 – Beatrix Potter is born in London

1892 – Peter Rabbit is first imagined by Beatrix in a letter

1902 – The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first officially published

1903 – Beatrix starts the first item of merchandising with a Peter Rabbit toy

1905 – Beatrix moves to her much-loved house in the Lake District where she wrote more Tales

1943 – Beatrix dies at 77 but Peter lives on

1991 – The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction opens in the Lake District

1992 – The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends launches on TV

2006 – Big Screen blockbuster ‘Miss Potter’ is released

2012 – Peter Rabbit TV series launches

2016 – Commemorative Peter coin is released by the Royal Mint for Beatrix’s 150th birthday

2018 – Peter Rabbit The Movie is released

2021 – Peter Rabbit 2 The Sequel is released
